For many students in the United States, $3 will pay for half of a lunch. For many South Asian students, $3 will pay for textbooks for an entire year. Jatalo, a Dallas-based “one for one” organization, wants to empower students and customers alike. With every Jatalo backpack purchased, a child in one of their affiliate regions in Ethiopia, Tanzania, or India receives textbooks for a whole year.

    Brilliant! And $3 is such a low cost, there's no barrier to entry. I've been supporting Freedom Pak (http://www.freedompaks.com/), more expensive but with a similar mission and backed by a dynamite organization.
