"Soft" Bike Lanes Make Falls Less Dangerous

More and more cities are getting bike lanes, but they're often just painted-off sections of regular roads. Sweden's taking bike lanes a step further, and developing a new pavement designed specifically for bikes: it's blended partially from recycled car tires so it can cushion a fall. It's also less slippery in the rain, and the engineers working on it are trying to find a formula that can help bike tires last longer.
