The Holga and other toy cameras alike have a huge following, and now that I am finally an owner of one, I can see why. These cameras force you to blindly make the simple decision to either take the shot or not, based on user judgement from past experience. In my opinion this is a great tool to sharpen skills for photographers of every level, but practicing on film can get expensive. I see this Holga D as a useful, fun, and cheaper alternative for photographers to play and/or practice with.
