The New Flu Shot for Babies: Puppies!

Now here’s a counterintuitive science finding: According to new research from Finland, having a pet is good for developing babies' immune systems. Babies who spend time around a dog or cat to in their first year of life get fewer colds than those who live in a pet-free household. And the benefit is significantly stronger for dogs: Children who live with dogs are 31% more likely to be in good health, while babies with cats only have a 6% advantage over those in a pet-free household.
