The No Make-up Selfie Campaign that Raised £2M for Cancer Research

Last week, women began posting pictures of themselves without make-up on Twitter and Facebook in the name of cancer awareness. The campaign went viral and has raised £2M for charity Cancer Research UK. Despite criticism, the organic campaign seems to prove that 1) people want to show their solidarity with cancer sufferers and pay tribute to friends and family who have died from the disease, and 2) combining popular trends with fundraising is a great way to reach young and untapped audiences.
