Local bird populations in the UK are plummeting growing cities eat up green space (even the sparrow, once common, is now endangered), but this design from Aaron Dunkerton might help. It's a group of hollow bricks that can go up on a building to give birds a place to nest. Complete with a tiny doorway for birds to enter. The center brick can also be removed to clean out old nests.
