This Ocean Power Plant Will Replace 1.3 Million Barrels of Oil a Year

China is planning to build the world's largest ocean thermal power plant, which works by generating energy from the difference in temperature between deep water and surface water. Though it only works in tropical regions, it can generate power around the clock, unlike wind and solar. The plant is expected to replace 1.3 million barrels of oil every year.
