Tube Time: A Summer's End Celebration of Wave Riding Films in New York

The New York Surf Film Festival opens this weekend showcasing the sport's creativity.

Summer isn't officially over yet, and we're looking forward to celebrating its last hurrah at the New York Surf Film festival this September 19 and 20. Now in its fifth year, the two day event in Brooklyn highlights a curated selection of short and feature films from around the world, as well as world premiers and Q&As.

We’re especially excited to see "Upcycling" a short about transforming an old longboard into a brand new board. The film demonstrates how rewarding giving old equipment new life can be, and the beautiful process of board shaping. We’re also looking forward to "The Promised Land," a feature that proposes surfing may have a place in the Middle East peace process. Also on our list—"30 Days Without Surfing"—a look at the creative moments that happen in life between surf sessions. Check out the full schedule and more information about the festival on their website.
