Vancouver Paves the Way to Being the Greenest City – by Paving its Streets with Recycled Plastic

Vancouver has lofty goals and ambitious ways of reaching them. The city proclaimed that they plan to be the Greenest City in the World by 2020. They have just started paving their streets with a mixture of recycled plastic and old asphalt, developing the concoction in partnership with GreenMantra.

This new mixture also uses less heat to produce, reducing fuel needs. Vancouver's innovative switch could save the city up to 300 tons of greenhouse gases per year.
