For the average person living in, say, the San Francisco Bay Area, apartments are barely affordable, let alone a house. Those not lucky enough to be tech CEOs are unlikely to get their own place. Compare this with a Dutch city called Nijmegen, which recently worked with over 20 architects to design super-affordable, pre-fab, nicely-designed houses for people making between €30,000 and €47,000 (about $38,000-$60,000).
