This new study shows that statistically speaking, U.S. urbanites are 20% less likely to die as a result of serious injury than their rural cousins. Gunslinging your first guess? Nope. It's cars—the biggest killer in the states no matter where you live. Rural folks though are twice as likely to be killed in a car accident—in large part because of greater distances travelled. Another arguments for walk-able bike-able cities?
