There seems to be a growing interest to know what's in our food. Products like this, Nike and Jaw Bone fit bands are starting to answer questions and provide consumers with more information. I think in the next couple of years, were going to see a lot more technology geared at trying to solve this issue and help us make healthier decisions. As consumers become more educated about their food choices, It will be interesting to watch how it will impact food purveyors, farmers, and markets.

Pretty amazing- wish you could use this before ordering food at restaurants. Seems like there's not a lot of use for it with food that's already labeled- although I guess labels aren't always accurate.

I think that labels are far from being accurate, the producers are always in discussions with the FDA (both in the U.S. as in the EU) to decide what they are allowed to avoid from the labels (minimum quantities etc...). This "scanner" could be very useful for food intollerance too.

Really cool. I'm going to support it. Wish there was a way to SUPER verify its accuracy. I'm always skeptical about digital devices.
