What Will the California Coast Look Like As Sea Levels Rise?

In the next century, thanks to climate change, ocean levels are projected to go up five feet; a few centuries later, 25 feet. Nickolay Lam made these images to show what, exactly, that would look like in LA, San Francisco, and San Diego. As he says on Co.Exist, all of the images are based on science, not science fiction. Bottom line, it's probably not a great idea to buy a house on the beach to pass on to your grandchildren.

    It's sad how many beach houses have been wiped out in my boyfriend's hometown. It's great to see that this artist is basing his art on reality, and I wonder how this can help raise awareness to a bigger audience.
