Through his nonprofit, mikeroweWORKS, Mike Rowe is flipping the scholarship model to provide students who work hard and are pursing a skilled trade with aid, and not basing it on financial need or academic merit. Rowe is challenging the stigma around alternative education and trades to help students realize they don't have to go into debt or get a college degree to have a good job.

    He covers this same thing in the latest TED talk on success. Very interesting. I love hearing different perspectives on this topic.
