RON PAUL , DENNIS KUSINICH , GARY JOHNSON , JILL STEIN offered the TRUTH and The MEDIA would NOT allow it and The People Didn't DEMAND IT ! . The Voters in America are Voting " NO CONFIDENCE ! What if we could vote in person, by mailing the ballot in, or by voting online or over the phone? Why does there have to be just 1 voting day? What if we could vote for 2 or more days, including at least 1 weekend day and 1 weekday, to account for people who work during the week and people that have their sabbath on Saturday or Sunday? Granted, I'm sure these would be logistically tricky but it seems to be worth consideration. Also, as a non-Republican in Utah, I feel like another way to increase voter turnout would be to amend the electoral college so it's not winner-take-all in each state, or possibly abolish it completely, as it's difficult to feel like my vote really makes a difference. Of course I vote anyway, but I suspect non-Democrats in Massachusetts would agree.

I know that this will not be a popular suggestion but here goes. Fine people who are not registered and who do not vote. I recently returned from Australia and on a Saturday afternoon in Sydney's CBD, saw a long line circling a block. I eventually found out that it was a polling station and that it was a federal law that if you are eligible and dont register and vote, you are fined. Now wait for the screams.

Making it a holiday would definitely provide time off from work BUT would it necessarily increase voter turnout? A day off lends itself to many, many usages and once that time is filled, any time leftover is well. . .treated as leftovers! People must be better educated in the need and purpose for voting. I have all too often heard the comment "Why vote? I am just one. My little vote really doesn't count." Well, that one statement creates the domino effect. One person makes that statement to one other person who decides not to vote for the same reason, he/she tells one other person who tells another person and the buck is passed along. Get the picture? EVERY vote counts! Just VOTE! America - VOTE! You may or may not see your choice as the winner but at least you have let your voice be heard.

I think national holiday as well. We need to impart the importance of the act. So many people don't care already, then your asking them to miss work to go stand in a long, boring line? Yeah sounds awesome. I get mail-in ballots because i know i won't do that. How can I expect anyone else to? Let's make it fun! It's a celebration of our rights it should be (and is) fun to vote!

I can make secure credit card payments, access my bank account, and apply for financial aid online, but I can't vote online? If we are serious about getting more people to vote, that's what needs to happen.

I don't feel Voting should take place on the weekend as it would interfere with people's "religion" whether it be Saturday or Sunday. We definitely should make it a national holiday and either give people a whole day or a full day off to allow people to take the time to vote. Personally, I don't need a day off to vote. I believe in voting and making time to do it.

The U.S. should definitely make it a U.S. holiday. I think we can afford to sacrifice one day of productivity in order to increase voter turnout. Plus, we should be celebrating the fact we can vote anyway!

Do you know any businesses in Michigan that would be interested in closing it's door to Take Back Tuesday?
