Great article! As a bisexual woman who has been married to a man for 17 years I can certainly relate. We have three children together and on the surface seem pretty "standard issue". I had been in relationships with women before I met him so after we made it official there were the typical reactions of "well, she got through that phase" from straight people and I think it left my gay friends kind of scratching their heads. I actually felt very uncomfortable being lumped into a "straight identity" since I had never really identified that way before. So after over 17 years in a monogamous relationship with my husband I still identify as bisexual and I don't think some people quite know what to do with that information. NO, it doesn't mean that I still sleep with women on the side or that I am not fully and emotionally satisfied in my current relationship. It simply means that I love who I love regardless of gender and I'm glad that this country is finally moving in the direction which supports this for everyone.
