In 1986, when I was a sophomore at Berkeley, four Cal football players gang raped a female student. This sparked a huge anti-rape movement on campus which was the beginning of my own political activism. The players basically got off free while the victim was demonized. Anti-rape activists in our movement were harassed and threatened for speaking out. I remember that almost the same scenario happened again several years later - with athletes gang-raping a woman. I had already graduated at that point and don't recall the outcome - but it was probably swept under the rug like the earlier incident. What an interesting idea to look at the historical way sexual harassment and assault has been handled at Berkeley, which, as you say, is not so different from other universities. You are brave to step forward and take your research public. Thank you!
