Nice, well done! I love when technology, design and innovation agencies and entities start looking and thinking about broader scenarios and specifically for development purposes.
I am a huge supporter of innitiatives such as change by design (specially fascinated by the work of Architecture Sans Frontieres UK), however with this contribution I am just wondering about your " human" element here. I don't see the "people's" voices here or in your design methodologies. By people I mean what in design you would probably call end users. As normally a human-centred perspective in the " social/development" sector is a process of organised and participative social change. I don't see that fitting into the equation.
The project mentioned here is a good example, whilst Im sure the changes in the hospital had a great impact...who evaluated such impacts? Sounds to me like external agents went into an area and identified "problems" based on again (external) knowledge and made an evaluation based on such assumptions to design a solution, without considering other priorities for the users and or habitants of this place. I just want to understand how this is work with people and not just another typical innitiative of people in what unfortunately still call "developed" countries and identified a "nice" way of using skills in a "developing" scenario. I think it is always important to look at our steps when we are "designing" or programing for doing good.
It could be an element that you are always and already are considering and it just wasn't written here...?
I am just curious and happy about multidisciplinary work.
