Thanks for posting this. I have struggled with time management and organization most of my life! I'm currently experimenting with using Evernote as a daily planner/to-do tracker. I have a template where I put all my appointments for the day at the top, the tasks I want to get done in the various life domains under that, errands that need running under that, and to-dos at the bottom.
I just add to the note as things come to me. If it doesn't happen that day, I put the date I added it at the end of the line, then copy/paste the whole thing into a new note for the next day.
Now I can see what I have got done (which is satisfying) by looking at the checkboxes from previous days, and I don't have to re-do my lists, or worry about losing them. I like Evernote because I can access my daily plan on my computer, ipad and iphone, so I am never without it.
