Education, health, future wellbeing of the communities are seemingly always at the mercy of bad budgetary decisions. Of course we constantly hear that budgets apparently get smaller every year, but there are thousands of architecture and building construction companies in the UK who would leap at the opportunity to design and maybe sponsor school builds that are aspirational… and not add to the hundreds of cramped, dreary and horiffic rotting estates and exhausted schools we already hate in the UK, specially in the cities.
To ban inspirational design from a place that is built to inspire is unbelievably idiotic as is shrinking our learning spaces, which has always had a negative psychological effect on adults and of course specially on teenagers. …Perhaps it's time to give up on government and embrace home schooling communities that are popping up (see alternative education); they are certainly on the rise and are producing some amazing, socially adept, young, driven talented people.
