Efforts to raise environmental awareness take place throughout the year. The United Nations declared 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity. It is a celebration of life on earth and of the value of biodiversity. This year the world is invited to participate in dozens of global events intended to help protect life on earth. The following is a summary of the major environmental events for spring, summer and fall, 2010.
