Came across this sad piece of information:
"Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) on Thursday placed a blanket hold on all
of President Barack Obama's nominees before the Senate, according to
the office of Majority Leader Harry Reid."
What this means is that over 70 nominees for various government
branches cannot be approved. This action is being taken in response to
the loss of a contract supporting workers in this Senator's district.
