Well, a day without single-use, plastic bags to be more precise.

Dec 20th will be the inaugural "Day Without a Bag" in L.A. County.

Over 20 cities have adopted resolutions supporting this event, and nearly two dozen local community groups and non-profits have joined the Reusable Bag Coalition to raise awareness about the environmental impact of single-use plastic bags.

Shoppers can join the Coalition at one of 8 different reusable bag giveaway locations around L.A. County, or simply shop at any Ralphs or 99c Only stores in the county that are participating in the event.

Over 6 BILLION plastic bags are thrown away each year in L.A. County alone. These bags have a useful life of only minutes and end up fouling public spaces and littering and contaminating the watershed.

On Dec 20th, we can all do some good by bagging the plastic bag habit, even if just for a day.
