A Little Room Of One’s Own

For those of us who’ve always wanted a house upstate, but have known that, were that fantasy to become reality, it’d have to be a really tiny house…

Tumbleweed Houses has designed the XS, a mini-residence equipped with all the necessary appliances, plumbing, a cord that plugs right into a standard AC outlet—or, of course, a solar electric system with an inverter—and, though it’s not by any means spacious, the XS is “excessively efficient.”

The inspiration for the XS was “to maintain a serene lifestyle rather than having a place to spend the rest of one’s life maintaining.” If it’s more about location than luxury, and you can travel light, hitch this thing to your pick-up and proceed to get away from it all.
