Ads, Ads, Everywhere Are Ads

The confluence of technology and marketing is an interesting place: Here we see ads on building roofs, which can be seen by satellite photos on places like Google Maps. Just to be clear-this logo is not for Google Maps, it just appears there. When, and if, services like Google Maps become intentional and even more prevalent, this could lead to dreadful permutations, like people selling the roofs of their houses for ads, or cities selling streets?

UPDATE: It turns out there are companies that are making ads specifically for satellite images.
