Chesterton's amazing novel Manalive. <br><br /> <br><br /> Mr. Smith meets, proposes to and marries a young lady, then is accused of polygamy when it turns out he's already married, a charge he does not deny. The twist? He's already married to the aforementioned young lady, and this charade is something he does just for fun.<br><br /> <br><br /> Wonderful book - check it out! He's brilliant, funny, and insightful - and tells some fantastic stories.<br><br /> <br><br /> Manalive is wonderful. The Napoleon of Notting Hill is another great Chesterton novel, and I'd round out my top 3 with The Ball And the Cross. It's about two guys trying to find a "safe" place for a duel - and being chased across London by the cops. They get to know each other and end up having a deep theological debate as they jump hedges and race through the city & country in their effort to stay ahead of the bobbies.<br><br /> <br><br /> Can't say enough good stuff about Chesterton.
