Baseball Players Have Skills You Can’t See

Comparing a baseball player’s physique to that of your average NBA player, you might think they’re just not athletes of the same caliber.
But in a strategy-heavy sport where you only succeed every third time at bat you need more than fitness. Good baseball players are also very self-confident, have exceptional mental fortitude and are great at mind games.
Psychologist Mike Stadler writes:
“Baseball is impossible without psychology: impossible to play, and impossible to appreciate fully as a fan,… Watch any game, and most of what you see is thinking.”
Hmmm…

I agree. I was a soft ball varsity player in high school and I have not played softball again. (Soft ball are for girls and same rules with base ball) Since then, have been into all sorts of sports – ultimate frisbee, football, volleyball, dragon boat and etc. Baseball is so different. It needs a lot of psychology, instincts, extra techniques and a lot of thinking. I miss playing this sport. Too bad it’s not that big here in the Philippines.
