"Boston Gears Up for Biggest Bike-Sharing Program", nytimes Bike-sharing is no longer just a european thing. Many US cities have began seeing bike-sharing as a way to reduce traffic and a clean up the environment.Boston's efforts are on the large scale but a more grass roots approach are also in effect in places like Portland, ME. In Portland locals developed the White Bike project, which salvages old bikes and make them available to all. GOOD also has a cool video titled B-Cycle, which shows how effective and how advanced these systems can get.LA- What kind of a system would work here? Can Bike-Sharing work with a sprawled out place such as LA? I think so.
