Bill Ford, the C.E.O. of Ford Motors, stepped down today. Despite a load of press a few months back about his attempts to make Ford greener (both environmentally and financially), it seems he couldn't quite get the job done. Now, GE has stolen most of the green business PR (i.e. you can't sneeze without hitting a Jeff Immelt/Ecomagination story, but in June it was Ford and his attempts to green-ify the auto world) and Ford has resigned. He'll still stay with the company in some capacity, because, you know, it's named after him.
