Carson v. Coburn
Senator Tom Coburn, who many consider totally bonkers, has decided to block a Senate bill commemorating what would have been environmental superwoman Rachel Carson's 100th birthday. He is doing this just to be mean, and because he is mad that DDT isn't used where it could kill mosquitoes and prevent malaria. Fair point, Senator. And way to be childish and petulant in making it. Sidenote: The New Yorker on Carson's birthday.
