The recession marks a major challenge for nonprofit funding. Our partners at GlobalGiving have responded with a great opportunity in their contest to add new nonprofits, the American Open.GlobalGiving is opening its doors to any and all nonprofits looking to raise funds online and connect to a network of thousands of donors (raising over $18 million for 1,300 projects so far).
If you work with or know a nonprofit looking for funding, submit a nomination form or a self-nomination form by the application deadline of May 14.
From June 8-June 30 participating nonprofits and their projects have a chance to become a mainstay on the GlobalGiving website through the challenge. The catch? Projects must raise $4,000 from at least 50 unique donors during those 23 days. The most funded projects receive additional awards of up to $3,000.
Sound like the perfect opportunity for an organization you know, or perhaps your own organization? Nominate away!
Also, if you have an idea for a partner nonprofit for GOOD, please nominate them by emailing partners (at) goodinc (dot) com.
