Welcome to The GOOD 30-Day Challenge (#30DaysofGOOD). Each month, we challenge ourselves to improve the world around us—and our own lives. The challenge for November? To document your life. In an effort to help us all rise to the occasion, each morning, we will post a daily mini-challenge on GOOD.is and Twitter, along with a testimonial from someone on the GOOD team who's already completed it. We invite you to complete all 30 mini-challenges and share them with us on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr.

Today's Challenge: Document art. Above, Dylan Lathrop submits an image of art.

When I'm out and about, I tend to collect as much visual collateral as I can: It helps to have a catalog of inspirational/interesting images to peruse when brainstorming for different projects. This photo comes from a Gallery Nucleus show from last spring titled "Illustrated Type," which showcased a wide range of hand rendered typography. This particular piece is from the design team Peter Vattanatham & Fiel Valdez, titled I am the Son and the Heir 1. Something about this drawing really captivated me. The subtle clash of color and texture combined with precisely drawn typography, with the specific words "CRIMINALLY VULGAR" was well worth cataloging to look back upon, both as content and as form.

Collecting and curating visuals from your world can really help you put it all in context, and as a designer, it aids in idea generation and seeing new ways of working through what others do. Each time you take a photo of something you find beautiful, it allows you to analyze process, or in the best cases, to be mystified by it.

Tomorrow's challenge: Document autumn.

Ready, set, go take a picture! Good luck completing today's challenge. Once you've snapped a shot, be sure to share it with us on Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook by using the hashtag #30DaysofGOOD. We will then post a roundup of your images the next day.
