Issue#8, on newsstands February 1st, focuses on Afghanistan from theperspective of photographers from all over the world including: America,Canada, England, Ireland, France, Greece, Turkey, Peru and Afghanistan. The portfolios each highlight adifferent element of Afghan life and society, from mountain tribes tothe Taliban, from poppy farmers to schoolteachers, from foreignmilitary personnel to local photographers in Kabul.Together, these photographers show life in Afghanistan with anintimacy and quiet intensity that serves as a necessary complement tomainstream media coverage of the region. While the United States (and theCoalition) have waged an eight year war on the Taliban, rarely do we seethe infinite complexities of daily life or the individuals struggling tosurvive in this beautiful, but fraught, landscape.
