Eat for health and happiness

  • Posted by: Greg Gorgone

Growing up in an Italian family, I thought everyone eat like we did.  Fresh food, lots of vegetables, freshly prepared entrees and top ingredients.  As I got older, I realized that so many people eat “fast food” and prepared foods with all sorts of strange ingredients.  And look at the health problems we Americans deal with!  Ever wonder that what we eat results in health problems that costs this country millions of dollars each year not to mention that pain and suffering that people go through because of years of poor diet.

We must work hard to make fresh food the norm again and make farming the backbone of our country once more.  We can feed ourselves and feed the world and improve conditions for all.  I look forwad to the day we eat as a family at a dining room table enjoying freshly prepared foods grown locally and see the lines at the fast food restaurants get smaller and smaller.  The results will be happier and healthy people and families.

I couldn’t agree with you more! Do you think the proposed legislation to have all chain restaurants post calorie counts will have a positive impact? I think a lot of people underestimate the thousands of calories a single meal can contain. Check out the article.
