
While you may have seen a lot of pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month last October, you may not be aware that stroke kills as many women as breast cancer does each year. In fact, just being a woman increases the risk of having a stroke, and being a minority increases it even more. Most women, however, know very little about their risks for stroke and how to detect a stroke quickly, which can be the difference between life and death. This is a look at the state of stroke in America, and how it affects women.
