Fake Drugs -Africa

A few days ago over 2 million counterfeit drugs destined for Africa were seized in Belgium. This is believed to be the biggest seizure of fake medication ever made in Europe.  Customs officers at Brussels airport became suspicious when they noticed spelling mistakes on the labels, these drugs come from low life businessmen and scientists who totally lack integrity.  When we read of the Multi-drug resistant Tuberculosis, the ever mutating Aids virus and the emerging "super bugs" not much is discussed about theses unscrupulous individuals who seem to be the number one perpetrators of this phenomenon.

There are many principles called into play as we conduct our day to day activities; however, the leading principle must be "Integrity"!  A little known concept in most companies or the people that run them; Honesty, truth, and compassion seem to run counter-current to modern business practice.  In this "New Millennium" people are starting to raise their consciousness to ever higher levels of true understanding of their place and the place of others around them, they are beginning to realize that we have a oneness, everything we do and say affects the whole of mankind.  We are no longer just the "I" or egoistic self, but a piece of the all that is.  This realization changes our perception of what is important to us. When a company produces fake Tuberculosis medication for patients in Africa, it does not only rob the struggling developing nation of hard earned revenue but also cripples its work force and ultimately commits murder. Why then should this crime be taken lightly? We are living in a global economy where, a pinch to the US economy is felt in Africa, a child with malaria in Togo is a burden to the US tax payer and a doctor trained in Nigeria is practicing in china. In order for us to move forward,we have to stand as a unit and practice the number one principle "Integrity".
