We've always thought that one of the main problems with global warming is, for now, how pleasant its effects are. Sunny and warm in January? Let's gun the engine on the Explorer for a few more hours! If, conversely, the temperature on July 4th had been steadily dropping for the past ten years-to the point where we watched fireworks in our parkas-the problem would have been solved long ago. Perhaps this, as noted by Treehugger and Grist, will light a fire under people: increases in global temperature may ruin the complex aging process of Kentucky Bourbon. Forget the ice caps, let's save the bourbon.
