Yesterday, Meg Whitman, the Republican candidate for governor in California, got an unwelcome surprise: A former housekeeper named Nicandra Diaz came forward and yes, she's an undocumented immigrant. By Diaz's side as she faced the media was Gloria Allred, a self-described "victims' rights" lawyer who, for whatever reason, has appeared in more than her share of ridiculous and sensational legal battles. We look back at Allred's amazing resume and try to figure out if she's doing anything useful.
