Yup, it's December. Along with snow (or crazy winds if you're in southern California), hot chocolate, decked halls, and lights that shine bright, the holiday season comes with gifts. Chances are, you'll be giving at least one gift and if it's destined for the hands of your parents, nothing's better to give than that timeless standby, literature. If they're not going to read it, at least it'll look nice on their coffee table.
The books below are great for your parents' generations; they're either written by parents or by voices of older generations. Or else they have an ageless appeal—which means you should feel free to steal them away for a couple hours. Tina Fey's ramblings, Hemingway's decline, or a culinary traipse through Paris are not just the stuff of parents' literature. They're the stories you should be reading, too.
