Organic change, in the Darwin context, is a slow evolutionary process with each mutant generation surviving or failing on its compositional merits.  Orgasmic change is a revolutionary process that always seems to catch everyone by surprise, yet its precursors and characteristics are remarkably similar. So it is with the economy of the West...most particularly America.  The immutable constituent herein is Greed, in all of its myriad forms and configurations.  Millions of words are in the process of being written which will seek to explain the phenomena of periodic economic collapse. Few, if any, will be forthright enough to limn the pivotal source of the condition: increasingly unchecked avarice.   Definitions of "insanity" often cite the repetition of failing acts or behaviors while cheerily expecting a different outcome.  So it is with America's dominant political and fiscal leadership in the contemporary context.  Protestations by Politicians seeking votes all assure they have 'the answer'.  In fact, they have nothing but minor and cosmetic variations on the same themes and procedures.  Until the twin spectres of Greed and Secrecy are both philosophically and pragmatically dealt with, no substantive change can be expected or implemented.  To be Good, to bring Good, to apply Good, to bequeath Good, one needs to think Good and not be frightened by the Nostradamic admonitions to keep repeating disastrous behaviors and everything will be somehow correct itself.  Not true then, not true now, unlikely to be true in the future. One should vote for the faction most likely to understand their limitations and be willing to make real changes in our systems and behaviors, and.....expect a different outcome.
