So... GOOD L.A. is in its formative stages, and we're still working on setting goals, so we can set an agenda, so we can monitor our progress. In the short term, we're going to host brainstorm sessions on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. at GOOD (6824 Melrose). If you have ideas about goals, events, people, or non profits to work with on a local level, please leave a comment below or feel free to come by on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Here's the three part strategy for GOOD L.A.:

1. What is a successful L.A.?
(Brainstorming concepts / Identifying critical variables)

2. How do we get there?

3. Movement to goal

We are in stage one right now, so your input is appreciated. To join the GOOD L.A. weekly dispatch, send an email to la (at) goodinc (dot) com.

Some sample goals may look like:

increase awareness of top 3 issues in LA by 50%

log 1,000+ new volunteer hours

create viable platform of local information and action opportunities

create culture of neighborhood and local engagement -- know your rep, senator, mayor, county rep, councilmember etc / know or be on your neighborhood council

recruit a representative from every council district as a GOOD Ambassador

recruit a representative from key categories (Business, Technology, Environment, Living, Education etc)

make 10 micro grants in LA per year

Eager to hear your thoughts.
