Hi there, I just found this really cool site and wanted to post a lil' something.  I was laid off from JPMorgan last year and wanted to try something a little different.  A+ Japanese Auto Repair called me for an interview.  At first I was like, hmmmm, auto repair??  But I decided to give it a shot.  My first impression was a good one and it only got better from there.  The reception room is so nice.  They had plants and beautiful hardwood floors, nice desks and yes, even art.  Surprised at what I found, I relaxed on the leather sofa and waited to meet the owners, Eric and Adam Sevim.  The two Service Consultants were on the phones with clients.  One asked the other, do we use brake pads with copper in them?  Service Consultant Rob, said, not if we can help it. Why, he asked?  Rob stated something like, it's not great for the environment so we found a better solution for everyone.

That was it for me.  I was sold.  That was seven months ago.  A big part of my job is to make sure we do everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint and to make a positive difference in our industry.  If you check out http://www.good.is/post/good-sheet-co2-world/ you will see why it is SO important for the transportation industry to wake up and start making better choices.

I'm so proud to be a part of this team here at A+ Japanese Auto Repair.  We are the First Green Certified Auto Shop in San Mateo County.  We encourage our vendors, local businesses and friends to go green.  All 252 lights in our building were changed out to energy efficient bulbs and we added four skylights.  We recycle everything - except compost because our fellas eat everything...  It does not stop there either.  We attend a lot of green events and just joined the Green Chamber of Commerce for the Peninsula Chapter.

Finally, we are one of twelve shops to offer the Hymotion battery for the Prius to convert it to a Plug In Prius.  I think it's really great that this little auto repair shop has taken such initiative to make a big difference in an industry that needs it most.
