Heartmelting Footage of Dogs Welcoming Soldiers Home

  • Posted by: Patrick James

No one knows how to honor a soldier as well as his dog. Watch, tear up, and get all overwhelmed with equal parts reverence and emotional fragility.

Many more videos at Mental Floss. The dachshunds are especially remarkable.

That is amazing. My favorite video of the week. Truly heartwarming. Dogs are the best. Furkid.

Scientists are still debating this, but dogs may not have a developed sense of “object permanence” in the way that we do.  So those dogs are probably reacting  based on a belief that their owners ceased to exist.  I’d be that excited too if I were a dog.

Nerdmom, that was literally the best possible reply to a post about dogs getting excited. Thank you!

If only all Americans would welcome home our brave soldiers with such love.  What a great video.

To Lori19…..Some of us do welcome back our returning service folks with greatfulness and excitement….although not quite as well as the soldier’s dog did in the short take……We also stand Flag Lines at their wakes and Burial Services when requested by their families…..We run interference (peacefully)  when protesters show up at funerals….Many of us are veterans…….many are not…but all are Patriots….AmericansThe group is known as “The Patriot Guard”…and we are not the only group of Patriotic Americans that do so…..There are many such groups through out America that do so…….God Bless Anerica and all her folks who have Served, are Serving and to those that will Serve in the future.jlombardo”All gave Some, Some gave All”
