Ideas and Experience

  • Posted by: sarahdoody

The currency of today is ideas.

Previous eras failed to touch a key element of the human spirit – the element of experience.

Experience is the common language that unites us all. By basing our designs on experience, we are able to resonate with the human spirit.

The world will be changed one person at a time as we create lasting emotional connections that will shift paradigms and interact with humanity. Together we will effectively change minds and connect with hearts – bringing forth incredible and unprecedented awareness, growth, and action.

    Sarah,

I really enjoyed ready this short note and then following your links to your website. With utopian visions, I often get criticised for dreaming and believing that I can make a difference; so truly I bathe in voices like yours… when I find them.

“Sometimes, all it takes is opening yourself up to opportunity – daring to dream – and having the faith to believe that it will happen regardless of the circumstances that surround you. When you focus on that destination and dream, anything can happen.”

    Thinking About People

IDEO, widely regarded as the best design firm in the world, is precisely that because of one simple truth: they understand people. IDEO approaches its projects first and foremost from the perspective of the person on the other end of everything that they create. They think about people, from start to finish, and build each and everything they do as layers on top of that understanding--driven by what they've learned about the people that they'll have an impact on. IDEO CEO Tim Brown and founder David Kelley refer to this process as 'design thinking' (you can see Tim's recent TED talk here), which builds a central element of human understanding into every step of the process that's designed to create something that will improve the life of the person on the other end of that creation.
