This is a messy one. It seems that attorney David Roth-no, not Diamond Dave of Van Halen/spandex fame, that would be too awesome-has confirmed that former Rep. Mark Foley has committed himself to rehab in the wake of his resignation Friday. In a twist of irony that only US Politics could deliver, Foley, the former co-chair of the Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus, is under investigation for sending inappropriate instant messages to a sixteen year old male page.
Don't worry though, the House has been quick to respond. Speaker Dennis Hastert assures:
"None of us are very happy about it."
Hastert did not go on to say whether anyone was "somewhat happy" or "vaguely indifferent" about it.
