Cannabis production is increasingly moving indoors, into large-scale industrialized systems, and all those grow lights and air filters consume an extraordinary amount of energy. In all, marijuana grown indoors is responsible for a whopping 1 percent of the entire nation's electricity demand. That's enough juice to power 2 million homes.
