Seems like a good opportunity to give BBCNews.com a well deserved shout out. I am a daily reader and fully aware that the news is a commodity that is bought and sold...the BBC feels like they are attempting to stay closer to objective journalism. An interesting comparison is to see what CNN.com is saying about the same story. But then I might just like what the BBC is selling more than CNN

GroundReport.com is a citizen journalism platform devoted to democratizing the news-- we agree with Alissa and are pursuing this strategy.

And we invite all you GOOD people to do the same by publishing your stories to the worldon GroundReport.com.

I like Der Spiegel, my roommate from Germany likes Tageschau.de. That difference marks the importance in recognizing what Americans want and what international viewers want.

Afterall BBCAmerica is simply International News tailored for Americans.

Even if an American were to read authentic International news, they would focus on the international issues that concern Americans (i.e. war, crises, global warming) as opposed to the fashion or soccer section of Le Figaro.

Costs of international broadcasting isn't a problem. In developing countries they usually just broadcast British or overdubbe German International News.

The above article, also doesn't bring anything new to the "We need International News" argument. What specific International News? Elsa Klensch's "Style". Macedonian News? International Salsa Competitions? The article almost echoes the tones of a politically motivated euphemism.
