On the floor of the U.S. Senate, Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) displayed what he considered to be "the most important prop we'll have during the entire [same-sex marriage] debate." What was it? A giant picture of his family. "I'm really proud to say," Inhofe said proudly, "that in the recorded history of our family, we've never had a divorce or any kind of homosexual relationship." He also refuses to hire any openly gay staffers. His wife took him to see the musical "Oklahoma!" once but Inhofe reportedly covered his eyes and ears and ran out screaming.
