That word "fence" make it feel like a struggle to escape, and really it doesn't have to be that depressing. Many KUDOS on a well-written article with much necessity. I do wish people, especially young people, thought about art a bit more. For me, at least, doing things with no one to look feels rotten. Art depends on my desire to create, of course, but that desire depends on the effect it can cause, and the stimulation it grants without prevail. I'm an "unestablished", "up-and-coming", "partially-self-taught" artist myself. You should tell me the name of your gallery. I've shown in NYC, Chelsea, but 2 shows can never be enough.

Great Article...name...please...(?)
Be well, and be safe.
Hi Jen, thanks for posting this article, it's extremely refreshing to see a gallery owner (especially from New York) that has opted to not buy into the typical gluttony of the gallery world. By making an effort to support emerging artists and collectors you are helping push art out of the elitist stigma in which it has stewed for far too long!... It seems as if these days we are more concerned with collecting endless piles of electronic detritus than collecting intimate hand made works. Thanks again for helping push art into the minds of people today!

One of the best places to find a large variety of original (not print) artwork, that is priced to sell is U*Space Gallery in Atlanta, Ga.

Their on-line gallery is amazing and fun. http://www.uspaceagllery.com
