Some friends in Washington, DC decided to sell vintage clothing, but they took it a few steps further. After creating a blog dedicated to fashion and culture in DC (two things it sorely lacks), they also host cocktail parties in local businesses, serving local food, and sell their wares while promoting others. For example, they had a party in a small used bookstore, serving food donated by a local restaurant, while their clothing was displayed on racks (put together at a local hardware store)in the corner. Everyone made out really well!
I just thought this was a genius business idea: Promoting local business, reusing, minimizing resource use and costs, and making DC a bit more interesting and fun.
